I graduated from Penn State in 1986 with a BA degree in Elementary Education. I was working on finding job opportunities in the Pittsburgh area, when I received a call from Marlene Clark at Boonsboro Elementary School. A third grade class had grown over the year and needed another teacher. After a successful interview I was hired February 1987. It is now twenty-eight years later. I have had two years experience at kindergarten, sixteen years at third grade, and ten years at fifth grade. During my time at Boonsboro, I finished my graduate degree in reading at the University of Virginia.

In my personal life, I just celebrated my twenty-sixth anniversary with my husband Bob. We have a twenty-one year old son Bobby. He will be a Junior at Virginia Tech majoring in Mechanical Engineering. When I am not teaching, you can find me playing in the dirt. I love to work outside in my flower garden. 

I am excited to be in third grade. I look forward to taking our budding students and molding them into successful independent learners. This will be a challenging and fruitful year for our third graders. They will have the opportunity to spread their wings and show what they are capable of achieving.
