In addition to the nightly homework, your child can practice spelling words on SpellingCity.com.
For Extra Credit: Your child can earn extra credit points if s/he takes a practice spelling test at home (parents call out words randomly as the child writes them on paper). Have the child write any missed words three times correctly. The paper must be signed by a parent to indicate that this was actually a practice test rather than a paper that the child simply copied from a list of words.
If your child receives a low score on a spelling test, you may elect to have him/her complete more extra credit activities:
- Put all Memory Words in ABC order.
- Write each Memory Word in a sentence with correct grammar, capitalization, and punctuation.
- Write each Memory Word using 5 different colors.
- Write spelling words and play Spelling Scrabble game using the points that are listed on each scrabble letter. Please click yellow link.
Please note that the children will be tested on all Memory Words as listed below. In addition, I will add some Pattern Words to the tests in order to have a total of 20 words each week.
